Into the UMverse is inspired by the UM Coat of Arm's Motto (Knowledge is the Key to Succuss). It break from the rigid & monumental gateway architecture, aspiring to represent an ascending journey that forms a portal into Universiti Malaya. The structure sprout from the ground in precautiously balanced form, projecting into the air demonstrate the UM student's ambition in making the leap in contributing to the society. The Gateway incorporates a Pedestrian ramp offering elevated views of the Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur & Damansara towards the surrounding city skyline.

The Gateway & Guardhouse are the entity to express rawness & dynamic. The Corten Steel cladding panels will be weathered as time passes, representing UM's everlasting status. The honestly in material finishes also represent UM's core values of integrity & sincerity. The LED strip enveloped the edges of the structure, create a sense of dynamic, representing the constant endeavor to seek knowledge.
